Hospital food service providers are working with (IDS) to customize the VendNetwork to interface with their point of sale systems. This is allowing hospital staff and patients to use their ID cards as a debit card in a vending machine as they would in the cafeteria.

Vending machine food purchases have been made easier with the VendNetwork system provided through IDS.

Customized to each food service providers point of sale system, providing the same cashless card options available in the cafeteria on the vending machines.
Depending on point of sale interface, cashless options include credit card and/or using employee ID as a debit card
Doctors and nurses praise it because they do not carry cash around while working.
Installed at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida by Aramark using the Horizon point of sale system.
Of course, cash works as a payment option still.

Integrates with cafeteria point of sale, allows employee id for purchase.

	Purchases can be made with an employee ID card reader.
	Electronic keys can be scanned and charged to employee account for ease of use.
	Thumbprint ID features help with security when dispensing medications for patients.
